BTS With the Cast of Little Shop of Horrors!

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to get this blog up and running, but I'll start by introducing myself :) My name is Lily Brundin, and I'm a student at the University of North Dakota, and I'm lucky enough to be working with the Fire Hall as their Social Media intern! I'm loving getting to get an inside look at the shows and happenings inside this lovely theatre, and I'd love to share with you...

This past weekend the cast of Little Shop of Horrors allowed me to intrude upon their rehearsal for a little while to film some interviews. I want to just first thank the director, Casey for letting me steal away his actors! So, what goes on in a rehearsal for the GGFCT? Many laughs, incredible energy, and what looks like a ton of fun.

"Meet" Brenna!

*Disclaimer: Brenna is on the left. I know you were wondering.

The first lovely lady I was lucky enough to interview was Miss Brenna Skallet. I put "meet" in quotations, because Brenna is actually a friend of mine, so our introduction was brief ;) Brenna plays Audrey in the show, so she is the leading lady (deservingly so!). I turned the camera on early in interview, and I have so much footage of her and I talking about her new puppy, and not the show... whoops.

She told me all about her theatre experience, and wow this girl is a seasoned pro. Oh, since this is "behind the scenes", here's a fun fact about Brenna... Earlier this year she posted on Facebook about how she was planning to audition for this show, and she had her fingers crossed for Audrey. Cut to 6 months later, and... Dang, talk about the law of attraction. Or talent. Whichever ;)

Onto Aaron (dun dun dun...)

Refer to the photo above for a visual representation of Aaron. On the right this time.

Aaron plays the dentist in the show, and he accompanied his own introduction to me with the "dun dun dun"... Personally I've never seen the show, but Aaron & Brenna painted a pretty nice picture. The dentist is the villain, and Aaron described him as having "absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever"... This must be a testament to his talent, because I couldn't see him as anything but a super nice guy (he's also the Youth Ministry Coordinator at Calvary Lutheran Church). He told me that his mom feels the same way, and she actually laughed out loud the first time she saw him performing as a villain, which I think is hilarious. Apparently he often get cast as the bad guy, which... maybe it's the beard? A villainous beard?

Suddenly Chris

I pulled out my camera to take this photo of Chris, and he immediately jumped to this pose. Model status.

Chris Feldmann plays Seymour in the show, and he seems to really fit the role. He described Seymour to me as just a "nice, good guy". Seems about right. Being that Seymour is the main role in the show, I didn't get a long time to chat with him, but he did tell me about himself and the show a little bit. He's also a student at UND, and got his start at the International Music Camp (I went to IMC as a kid, too!). What a world.

Anyway, I had a great time with the cast, and I'm so glad they had time to chat with me. I'll definitely be seeing the show when it opens!
